First of all, I must apologize for publishing my sixth blog post so late! Those who follow me on Instagram know the reason... I lost my computer charger and could not get a new one until today. But, because I could not log into my blog until now, I must confess to you guys that I am so happy to see the number of people who have read my blog since the last time I posted. It has now been one month since I decided to start it and I have no regrets at all - in fact, the opposite 😀
Primero que nada, debo disculparme con ustedes por publicar mi sexta publicación tan tarde! Aquellos que me siguen en Instagram saben la razón... Perdí mi cargador de la computadora y no pude conseguir otro nuevo hasta hoy. Pero, gracias a que no pude meterme a mi blog hasta ahora, debo confesar que estoy super feliz de ver el numero de lectores que han estado leyendo mi blog desde la ultima vez que lo publique. Ya ha pasado un mes de que decidí comenzar a escribirlo y no me arrepiento en lo absoluto - de hecho, todo lo contrario.
Denmark, as many of you may know, has become my center of attention and one of my favorite subjects to talk about. I think 80% of what I talk to other people about is related to Denmark. But, I am not to blame because I bet everyone who is amazed by something or passionate about something would do exactly the same thing.
So let us move on to the facts about Denmark:
1. Did you know that Denmark has been the happiest country in the world most times while never leaving the top three for even a single year? SO COOL, isn't it?
2. Over the years, Denmark and New Zealand have been the two least corrupt countries in the world. What a relief!
3. The Danish monarchy is the oldest in Europe. This is my favorite subject. I love everything that has to do with royalty. Isn't it just an amazing coincidence that I am moving to a country with kings and queens, and castles, and where the majority of the surrounding countries are just the same?
Dinamarca, como muchas de ustedes ya han de saber, se ha convertido en mi centro de atencion y uno de mis temas favoritos para hablar. Pienso que 80% de lo que hablo con otras personas es a cerca de Dinamarca. Pero, no soy culpable porque apuesto que cualquier persona que este impresionado o apasionado por algo, haría exactamente lo mismo que yo.
Okay, vamos a pasar a los hechos a cerca de Dinamarca:
1. ¿Sabían que Dinamarca ha sido considerado el país más feliz del mundo la mayoría de la veces, sin nunca dejar los tres primeros lugares ni siquiera por un solo año? DEMASIADO COOL, ¿no lo creen?
2. A través de los años, Dinamarca y Nueva Zelanda han sido los dos países menos corruptos en el mundo. ¡Que alivio!
3. La monarquía Danesa es la más antigua en Europa. Este es mi tema favorito. Amo todo lo que tenga que ver con la realeza. ¿No es una maravillosa coincidencia que me estoy mudando a un país con reyes y castillos, y que la mayoría de los países que rodean Dinamarca son lo mismo?
4. Denmark's capital has more bikes than cars! (OMG, I think Mexico is the country where least people use bikes). Of course, everyone learns how to ride a bike, but that's it. It might be because of the distances. Mexico is, of course, a bigger country but it is very rare to see bike paths on the roads. Therefore, the first time I went to Denmark and Daniel gave me a bike, I freaked out completely! I am the opposite of used to riding a bike when transporting myself somewhere (I always, always, have a car in Mexico), and it sucks, even more, when it is raining, haha. Yet, it is a completely new experience and, wanting to or not, I have to do it. But, as I always say: "Enjoy even what you do not like to make it less annoying".
5. LEGO is Danish. This is fabulous. I have always liked LEGO and played with it. I have read that no matter what age you are, anyone finds it entertaining and fun. Is it true for you? 😊 There is actually a place called Legoland and it is, of course, all built with LEGO pieces. If the original LEGOLAND is in Denmark, why have I not gone yet? 😱 I promise, I will post some photos about it if I ever go!!
6. The Danish alphabet has three extra letters (æ, ø, and å). Having a Danish boyfriend and meaning to live in Denmark forever means learning each other's native languages. I find the Danish language so difficult, especially those three letters because they are SO difficult to pronounce. Okay, so this is my experience regarding the Danish language. The first time I listened to it I seriously could not catch a single word. And it is so unfair because Daniel finds Spanish so easy and he is already super good at it. The second time I went to Denmark, I went for three months and began understanding more. And the third time I could actually repeat some words and learned them. Even though my pronunciation can be off sometimes, I am still able to understand somehow, but of course not all.
7. For years, the Danish restaurant NOMA has been the best in the world! I have never tried it before and will probably never want to. It is crazy expensive. Just go take a look!
8. Disneyland was inspired by Tivoli, an amusement park in Denmark. When Walt Disney went to Tivoli, they decided they wanted to create something similar in America. Many of Walt Disney's movies are also inspired by the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.
4. La capital de Dinamarca (Copenhagen) tiene más bicicletas que carros! (OMG, pienso que México es el país donde menos las personas usan bicicletas). Claramente todos saben como manejar una bicicleta, pero eso es todo. Podría ser por las distancias tan lejanas, ya que México is mucho más grande y es raro que haya carriles para bicicletas en la vías de transporte. Es por eso que la primera vez que fui a Dinamarca y Daniel me dio una bicicleta, ¡entre en pánico completamente!Estoy lo opuesta de acostumbrada a manejar una bicicleta para ir a algún lugar (siempre, siempre tengo carro en México), y odio que no tengo uno en Dinamarca. Aún peor, cuando llueve y tengo que salir a algún lugar, jaja. Sin embargo es una experiencia completamente nueva, y quiera o no, tengo que hacerlo. Pero, como siempre digo: "Disfruta hasta lo que no te gusta para que no se sienta tan fastidioso".
5. LEGO es danés: Esto se me hace fabuloso. Siempre me ha gustado jugar y armar cosas con las piezas de LEGO. He leído que no importa la edad que tengas, siempre encontraras LEGO como algo entretenido y divertido.¿Es esto verdad para ti? De hecho, hay un lugar aquí en Dinamarca llamado Legoland, y obvio, todo esta construido con piezas de LEGO. Si el Legoland original esta en Dinamarca, ¿por que no he ido todavía? Prometo que si alguna vez voy subiré algunas fotitos de este maravilloso lugar!!
6. El alfabeto danés tiene tres letras extra (æ, ø, y å). El tener un novio danés y quererme ir a vivir a Dinamarca para siempre significa que debemos aprender nuestros respectivos idiomas. El idioma danés es demasiado difícil, especialmente por esas tres letras que son muy difíciles de pronunciar para alguien que habla otro idioma. Okay, les contare un poco de mi experiencia respecto al danés. La primera vez que lo escuche se los juro que no pude entender ni siquiera una sola palabra. Y es super injusto, porque si hablas danés ya cualquier otro idioma se te facilita. Es por eso que Daniel lo ha aprendido demasiado rápido sin necesidad de estudiarlo, únicamente escuchándome hablándolo. En cambio, la segunda vez que fui a Dinamarca y estuve ahí por tres meses, comencé a entender un poco más. Y la tercera vez que fui, pude hasta repetir algunas palabras y aprendérmelas. Aunque mi pronunciación puede ser un poco mala a veces, aun puedo entender de alguna manera, pero claramente no todo.
7. Por muchos años, el restaurante danés llamado NOMA ha sido el mejor restaurante en el mundo! Siento honesta, nunca he ido y probablemente nunca lo haré 😂. Es de lo más caro que te puedas imaginar. Solo ve su pagina web y date una idea!
8. Disneyland fue inspirado por Tivoli, un parque de diversiones en Dinamarca. Cuando Walt Disney fue a Tivoli, decidieron que querían crear algo similar en América. Y, muchas de la peliculas de Walt Disney también están inspiradas por el famoso escritos danés Hans Christian Andersen.
9. Something Denmark does and is really working all over the country to help decrease pollution and help all those little animals in the sea is to give people money every time they return bottles. Every bottle has something called pant and it can be pant A, B or C. A means 1.00 DKK, B means 1.50 DKK, and C 3.00 DKK. I must confess that when I just found that about this, I started collecting lots of bottles. You guys would be surprised if I told you how much money I got from bottles. All I can say is that it was A LOT. And do guys know what the best thing about people getting money from bottles is? That the streets are spotless and the seas and canals free from trash. If all countries in the world did that, I cannot even imagine how good our planet would be.

Algo que Dinamarca hace y que esta realmente ayudando al país a disminuir la contaminación y ayudar a esos pequeños animalitos que viven en el mar es, darle dinero a las personas a cambio de que devuelvan las botellas que fueron compradas dentro del país. Cada botella tiene un símbolo que se llama pant y puede que sea pant A, B o C. A significa $3.00 pesos, B significa $4.50 pesos y C $9.00 pesos. Debo confesar que cuando me contaron de esto, comencé a colectar demasiadas botellas. Ustedes estarían sorprendidos si les dijera cuando dinero llegue a obtener gracias a las botellas. Pero todo lo que les puedo decir es que era demasiado. ¿Y saben cuál es la mejor parte de que las personas se sientan incentivadas al hacer esta acción? Que las calles están impecables y los mares y canales están libres de basura. Si todos los países en el mundo hicieran eso, no me puedo ni imaginar lo bien que nuestro planeta estaría.
10. Last but not least, Danish people have a rather famous word called "hygge" meaning something along the lines of a cozy feeling of togetherness, although it really cannot be explained that easily - you have to experience it to understand. I absolutely love when we have hygge 💗. You are surrounded by amazing people, maybe with some delicious food or snacks or no food at all, but the fact that you are in this cozy atmosphere means a lot!

La ultima pero no menos importante, los daneses tienen una palabra muy popular llamada "hygge", significando algo parecido a la acogedora sensación de unidad, aunque no puede ser explicada tan fácilmente. Uno tiene que experimentarlo para poder entenderlo. Yo absolutamente amo cuando tenemos hygge 💗. Estas rodeado de personas maravillosas, tal vez con algo de comida deliciosa o solo aperitivos, o no necesariamente se tiene que tener comida, pero el hecho de que estés en un ambiente acogedor y de paz es mas que suficiente.

Hola! soy mexicana también y en una clase de la universidad tendremos una tipo "expo cultura" y tengo que hablar y representar a Dinamarca. Encontrarme con tu blog me ha servido de mucho gracias por compartirlo; y wow que afortunada eres de vivir todas experiencias!
